Background
The Perinatal Mental Health pilot (PMHp) Governance Committee provides clinical, technical, research and/or statistical expertise to support the AIHW’s development of the PMHp which will utilise data collected through the iCOPE digital perinatal screening platform and other jurisdictional mental health screening.
Terms of reference
The PMHp Governance Committee:
- Provides expert advice and guidance on current and emerging perinatal and maternal mental health screening and data collections, practices and issues, considering clinician and consumer perspectives, perinatal and maternal services and systems, and assessment and referral pathways.
- Considers the outcomes of relevant related projects and advises on their linkage/impact to the pilot.
- Draws on professional and other networks and expertise when considering options and providing feedback, and facilitates communication with membership bodies and other stakeholders where applicable to assist the AIHW to progress consultation on relevant items.
Membership
The PMHp Governance Committee comprises members appointed based on their knowledge and expertise in the field of maternity services, health information system development and/or data collection practices. Membership complements existing consultative structures available to the AIHW’s Maternal and Perinatal Health Unit (MPHU), such as the National Perinatal Data Development Committee (NPDDC) and National Maternity Data Development Project Advisory Group (NMDDP AG).
The PMHp Governance Committee is chaired by the AIHW.
