Consulting on building the evidence on primary health care

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) is developing a National Primary Health Care Data Asset to gain a better understanding of the patient’s journey and experiences within the healthcare system, including their reason for an encounter with a clinician, diagnosis, treatment and outcomes.

We are working closely with stakeholders to build the evidence base and contribute to better health and wellbeing for all Australians, while upholding the strictest data quality and privacy standards.

To this end the AIHW has created an exposure draft of the Data Development Plan for the Data Asset which forms the basis of a nationwide consultation to gather comprehensive and considered input from the broader community.

Interested parties can provide a formal submission up to 28 July 2019 through the AIHW’s Consultation Hub.

For more information on this development activity, see further: National Primary Health Care Data Asset.
