Our Ethics Committee is established under Section 16 of the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare Act. Its functions and membership are prescribed in the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (Ethics Committee) Regulations 2018.
The AIHW Ethics Committee meets five times as year. The submissions deadlines listed are for applications, requests for amendment, monitoring reports and other correspondence.

Before lodging an application to the Committee, first check to see if the data you require are already publicly available. If not, you need to contact the relevant data custodian to discuss your data request.
To lodge an application to the AIHW Ethics Committee, use EthOS, the Ethics Online System. You can also use EthOS to lodge monitoring reports and track the progress of your application.
Only applications that satisfy Committee requirements will be presented to the Committee for consideration.
