Demographic characteristics

Seventy per cent of the cohort were male and 30% were female (Figure 2; Table S1). Almost a quarter (24%) of initial TBI hospitalisations in the cohort were for people aged 15 to 24.

This stacked column graph shows number of males and females in the cohort by 6 age groups from 0–14 years to 55–64 years.  In every age group there were more males than females. The 15–24 age group had the most patients (5,961) and the 35–54 age group had the least patients (3,318).
