The Perinatal Mental Health pilot (PMHp) includes new and existing de-identified perinatal mental health data about mothers and non-birthing parents in the antenatal and postnatal period. The collection will include data from perinatal mental health screening conducted in public maternity hospitals, maternal and child family health clinics and general practice clinics. It includes patients’ self-reported responses to a range of established and validated clinical tools.

Data scope Data will be collected through multiple sources, including the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE) iCOPE digital perinatal mental health screening platform (iCOPE screening platform), and data supplied directly from state and territory health departments. This first phase of the data collection only covers a segment of the antenatal and postnatal mental health screening occurring in Australia. |
